Sun UV Eyes

Sun UV Eyes

DO YOUR SUNGLASSES SPEND MORE TIME ON YOUR HEAD THAN ON YOUR FACE?

Summertime often means long hours in the sun. Most of us remember to protect our skin by applying sunblock, but don’t forget that your eyes need protection as well. It is important to start wearing proper eye protection at an early age to shield your eyes from years of ultraviolet exposure.

Too much exposure to UV light raises your risk of eye diseases and other problems. These range from cataracts, corneal diseases,
cancers around the eyes and lidesand keratitis (snow blindness). It is not just adults who are affected, according to WHO, children suffer more damage before the age of 18. This damage can be irreversible. It is also important to know not all sunglasses have FULL UV protection, so those supermarket cheap ones will only reduce glare. Not protect you from UV.
